Lies studied biochemistry and biotechnology at the University of Antwerp. She was always very passionate about immunology but, during her study career, she also gained a strong interest in bioinformatics. She performed her master’s thesis at the Adrem Data Lab where she analysed mass spectrometry data looking for post translational modifications in colorectal cancer epitopes.
As a bioinformatician at myNEO, she is contributing to the optimisation of the pipeline by implementing new features such as germline variant calling.
